Programming pressures rise as AV and IT converge

AV programmers must continue to deliver systems that are easy to operate for users while dealing with the impact of consumer products and AV/IT convergence behind the scenes.

Networking, AV/IT convergence, the influence of consumer products on professional expectations and increasing complexity of AV systems are all putting pressure on programming requirements. So what’s new? Aren’t they the same influencers that are imposing themselves on every area of the industry and felt by manufacturers, integrators and end users the world over?

Of course, but in many cases the people programming AV systems most keenly feel these pressures. The demands placed upon them to integrate with other systems or deliver interfaces that meet end user expectations are arguably greater than in any other area of the business.
