Zoom debuted its new immersive view feature at Zoomtopia 2020, allowing conference hosts to arrange video participants and webinar panelists onto a single virtual background.
Immersive view blends each participant into one connected scene, with multiple options to create an immersive environment based on a classroom, a boardroom, a conference auditorium and more, with up to 25 participants able to join each immersive session.
Immersive view works in a similar way to Zoom’s existing speaker or gallery view options, with immersive view allowing hosts to automatically or manually place participants into a scene, moving participants around the scene or resizing a participant’s image for a more realistic experience.
Hosts can also upload their own scenes or upload a video as an immersive view scene to bring participants into a personalised virtual background.
Immersive view is available for Windows and MacOS desktop clients for free and single pro accounts using Zoom 5.6.3 or higher and can also be enabled via Zoom’s web portal for other account types.
