Lorient’s football club called in Audiolite to install a permanent sound system for its historic stadium. Audiolite utilised 42 Adamson Metrix W enclosures in the Stade de la Route de Lorient, inaugurated on September 15, 1912.
The Stadium’s new sound system is mainly used for speeches and sports-event entertainment segments including music. The installation design was carried out jointly by Audiolite and DV2.
The system was waterproofed against humidity with a special paint for the birch enclosure. It was then varnished inside and out. The usual Speakon connectors were removed and replaced with strain reliefs – directly to the box. All rigging hardware including frames and pins were galvanized. The grill was constructed from aluminum.
The Adamson ND-8LM 16 Ohm drivers were claimed to offer savings on cabling and amplifying. Six Metrix W LF and HF’s were placed on two channels of a Lab.gruppen C68:4.
