The Nike Football Training Center in Soweto, which will train 20,000 young footballers a year, is utilising Vieta sound reinforcement systems. Audio agency, Metropolis Consulting proposed a turnkey solution for the venue, with Vieta specified for all indoor areas.

The brief called for versatile systems, with input/output points located in various positions around the venue. Simplicity was important, enabling the system to be used by anyone yet still providing full control to the outside events companies that will also use the site.
Facing onto the football fields with an open roller shutter door, the Gym required a discreet system for playing background music, and complementing the main PA on the field. A pair of Vieta Do-2s, ultra-compact full-range enclosures with an appealing elongated design, were perfect for the job; amped on one channel of a Full Fat Audio 4004, they give frequency response from 200Hz to 20kHz. A Control Panel offers the facility to select source and volume.
Game planning and screenings take place in the Auditorium. Here a client-supplied 4x4 Plasma Wall has been set up, with Vieta Re-12 trapezoidal loudspeakers inset into the wall behind mesh covers, supplemented by two Vieta Re-115S 15” sub-bass units located centrally beneath the screen.
In the Red Room, an education and counseling facility operated by Nike Red, audio support is provided by four compact Vieta Mi-20s. These wall-mounted units have been integrated with DVD player and plasma screen, and a Control Panel allows for Source Selection including any source being input into any of the other rooms. A VGA on the Control Panel also allows for direct input onto the screen for presentations, or playback from computer.
