Optocore has announced OptoSplitter, a device which offers redundancy when paired with its AutoRouter product that discovers mobile devices and adds them to Optocore loops.
Users can now connect external equipment to OptoSplitter rather than an AutoRouter pair (main and back up device). This splits the fibre signal in two and distributes it to the main and backup AutoRouter. Both routers communicate leaving only one active at a time and automatically switching to the backup router when the active one is absent.
OptoSplitter is available as a standalone product but existing AutoRouter or BroaMan Route66 owners can use it to add redundancy to their existing system.
