Hi-Lights Group powers the Grand Egyptian Museum opening

When the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) finally opened its doors in Giza after two decades of anticipation, Hi-Lights Group took centre stage behind the scenes, delivering the full AVL execution for one of the most spectacular cultural inaugurations in recent memory.

In partnership with MediaHub and working alongside international collaborators Lumasky, Kvant, Live Legends, 360 Collective, and Dirty Monitor, Hi-Lights Group brought the monumental event to life through a seamless blend of projection mapping, drone choreography, lighting design, laser artistry, and LED installations.

The result was a breathtaking fusion of technology and storytelling. The façade of the new museum - a $1 billion, 500,000 sq m complex now recognised as the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single ancient civilisation - became a canvas for dynamic projections that celebrated Egypt’s heritage. Above, a precision drone display painted the night sky with the forms of ancient gods and symbols, while laser and light sequences unfolded in perfect synchrony to mark a defining moment in Egypt’s modern cultural history.

World leaders and dignitaries, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Spain’s King Felipe, and Germany’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, gathered beneath the spectacle as Egypt unveiled its newest architectural and artistic landmark. President al-Sisi described the museum as “a beacon for all who love life and believe in the value of humankind”.
