ENCO will debut its enTranslate automated live translation system for the first time in Europe at IBC 2019, allowing users to automatically translate television programming, corporate meetings and other content.
Subtitles and secondary or tertiary closed captions can be offered in alternative languages, with universities, houses of worship and corporations able to embed translated captions in short and form VOD content as well as having the option to show live, open-captioned subtitles on local displays to assist in-person attendees.
The system uses ENCO’s open and closed captioning features with translation technology from Veritone to provide automated translation of live or pre-recorded content for multi-language captioning and subtitling.
The system’s architecture supports a range of baseband and network based audio and video inputs including analogue, AES, HDMI, SDI, AoIP, NDI and MADI with translated results able to output in standard caption file formats; embedded as closed captions using an external or optional integrated encoder or keyed as open captions over an SDI, HDMI or NDI output.
Audio and video clips can be integrated into the system and captioned with translated in any supported language.
The enTranslate system currently supports 46 languages including English, French and Spanish.
IBC 2019 will run from 13th-17th September 2019 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
