AMX says its new Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switch is easy to install and saves energy.
The NXA-ENET8PoE Gigabit Ethernet Switch provides an Ethernet network for voice, video and data applications.
It transmits both power and data through a single cable to eight remotely located PoE enabled devices such as AMX touch panels, Wireless Access Points (WAP), VoIP phones and IP surveillance cameras. The company claims the switch also saves up to 59 per cent of energy.
With multiple 10/100/1000 Base-T Ports, the PoE switch supports three different transfer rates on the same port and auto-selects the best speed and duplex supported by both connected devices for maximum data throughput. It can deliver maximum power up to 15.4W for 4 ports or 7.5W simultaneously for eight ports, over twisted pair cable up to 100 metres. Advanced configuration can also be achieved with the embedded web-based management interface to improve throughput, data prioritisation and security.
