Insight Presentation Systems deployed Visionary’s 5 Series AV-over-IP technology to deliver an ambitious live production for the annual No7 Beauty Company product launch, held for parent brand Boots in the UK.
The high-profile event, one of the beauty industry’s most anticipated showcases, featured wall-to-wall projection, an extended thrust stage, and eight screens encircling the audience to create a fully immersive experience.
Insight Presentation Systems, a UK-based integrator with more than 30 years’ experience in live event production, has produced No7 Beauty Company’s annual launch for seven years. According to technical director Mathew Cook, this year’s configuration marked the most complex yet. “No7 Beauty Company’s annual launch has become a highlight of our calendar, and every year the scope expands. This year’s configuration was the most ambitious yet,” he said.
Traditionally, the events relied on SDI-based video systems, but Insight decided to transition to IP-based distribution using Visionary’s 5 Series endpoints. “In the past, we’ve worked with Visionary, but it’s traditionally been a couple of screens here and there,” explained Cook. “As video-over-IP continues to gain traction, we decided to leverage Visionary’s 5 Series for the event.”
With the new configuration supporting eight high-resolution screens around the stage, the switch to Visionary’s platform represented a major leap in scale. “Almost overnight, we shifted nearly the entire video system to Visionary,” said Cook. “This became the largest live event project we’ve ever done with Visionary by a significant margin.”

The deployment relied on Visionary’s low-latency performance and the 5 Series Decoder’s network loop-through function, which simplified installation. “The network loop-through meant we didn’t have to run multiple network cables to the truss for projector control,” said project engineer Jacques Batchelor. “That made the install smoother and saved us time on-site.”
The system integrated into existing network infrastructure, supported by Netgear switches. “Since we already had a robust network in place, adding Visionary wasn’t a major change,” said Batchelor. “Unlike other video products, Visionary fits into our existing architecture without requiring major reconfigurations.”
When a technical issue occurred during setup, Visionary’s support team responded quickly. “We had senior-level technical support within hours,” said Cook. “Chuck Larson [Director of Training and Support for Visionary] joined a call despite the time difference. While his involvement was focused on fixing our immediate issue, he genuinely wanted to understand our real-world use case to help shape future product development.”
The success of the project has made Visionary’s 5 Series a key part of Insight’s future live production strategy. “We’re already planning to use Visionary in many upcoming shows,” said Cook. “The 5 Series delivered the performance, flexibility, and low latency that this high-profile launch demanded.”
