FundamentalVR appoints Rafael Grossmann to medical panel
Dr Rafael Grossmann has been appointed to FundamentalVR’s global medical panel, a panel of healthcare and medical professionals that advise FundamentalVR in the development of its immersive surgery VR applications.

Grossmann is a full-time practicing surgeon specialising in general, trauma, advanced laparoscopic, single-incision and robotic-assisted surgeries. Grossmann was also the first doctor to use Google Glass during live surgery and lectures on innovation in healthcare as well as the growth in mobile and wearable platforms for surgical use.

Grossmann commented: “FundamentalVR has been at the vanguard of fusing VR simulations with tactical feedback, which has taken medical education to a whole new level. The ability to feel a procedure is integral to developing the muscle memory needed for surgical proficiency.

“The potential for immersive technology in medical education and surgery is inspiring, and I’m thrilled to be working with the FundamentalVR team. In the future, we are going to see new delivery channels that will give surgeons seamless access to simulations that allow them to refine their skills in immersive environments.”
