Biamp adds PoE+ amp and ceiling mics to Tesira
Biamp Systems has expanded its Tesira audio and video platform with power over Ethernet (PoE+) and a series of Beamtracking ceiling microphones.
The products will be demonstrated at ISE 2018 on Biamp’s stand (3-B120) at the Amsterdam RAI, February 6 to 9.
Biamp has applied its Beamtracking technology to the Tesira microphones [pictured below] to provide 360-degree room coverage and identify and lock to a stationary or moving signal source. Conversations are tracked and mixed.
The microphones comprise the Tesira TCM-1 AVB ceiling microphone with built-in DSP for beamtracking; Tesira TCM-1A with an added 2-channel PoE+ amplifier with burst power mode; and Tesira TCM-1EX, an expansion microphone designed to be daisy-chained to either the TCM-1 or TCM-1A for expanded coverage.
Biamp will also show the Tesira AMP-450P, a four-channel, PoE+ conferencing amplifier. It is suitable for ceiling speakers, program speakers and mix-minus systems and is capable of operating in a burst mode to handle peak loads, providing up to 50 watts per channel.
For smaller conference rooms, a single Ethernet cable can connect a TesiraForté AVB VT4 to a Tesira TCM-1A Beamtracking microphone. Larger conference rooms can use a TesiraForté AVB VT with the Tesira AMP-450P and TCM-1.
The Tesira Beamtracking ceiling microphones and the AMP-450P amplifier will be available in the second quarter of 2018.
