Smart extends collaboration for business users
Smart Technologies is targeting business customers with two collaboration systems for interactive meeting spaces.
One collaboration system is with the Smart Board™ 885ix interactive whiteboard system and one with the Smart Board 8070i interactive display. Both systems ship with Smart Meeting Pro 2.2 software and the Smart GoWire auto-launch cable, which also comes with Smart Meeting Pro software. Both the Smart Board 885ix interactive whiteboard system and the Smart Board 8070i interactive display support common multitouch gestures currently recognised in the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
Using DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology, the interactive whiteboard system and the interactive display deliver multitouch and multiuser writing. The 885ix and 8070i also offer object awareness, a feature that provides an intuitive experience and enables users to interact with digital content using their fingers, pens, fists or erasers interchangeably.
The Smart Board 885ix interactive whiteboard system includes an 87" (221 cm) widescreen interactive whiteboard with 16:10 aspect ratio, ultra-short-throw projector and extended control panel (ECP). The Smart Board 8070i interactive display offers a high-definition, 1080p, 70" (177.8 cm) display with 16:9 aspect ratio and features a sleek, contemporary design. The Smart GoWire cable, a 7' (2.13 m) software-enabled USB cable, automatically launches Smart Meeting Pro software when connected to a user’s laptop and a Smart Board interactive whiteboard or Smart Board interactive display. The Smart GoWire cable is available with either Smart Meeting Pro or Smart Meeting Pro Premium and enables laptop users to display the laptop’s files on a large interactive surface.
Smart Meeting Pro Premium 2.2 software supports common multitouch gestures and is specifically designed to enable users to write over any application using digital ink. With Smart Meeting Pro Premium, users can insert digital ink directly into common applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Visio. Using Smart Bridgit 4.2 conferencing software with Smart Meeting Pro or Smart Meeting Pro Premium, meeting participants can automatically and securely connect to a remote meeting.
