Samsung aims to mass produce flexible AMOLED displays in 2012

Samsung has announced plans to mass produce its flexible AMOLED displays, first demonstrated at CES in January this year, in 2012. It intends to manufacture them for applications such as mobile devices and also lighting.

With plans to build a new 1000 square metre manufacturing plant, in a joint venture with Ube Kosan, Samsung is also planning to create devices like flexible, wrap around wrist watches and many others. The flexible AMOLED displays can bend to a radius of 1” making them highly versatile.
