NEC explores future of displays

NEC Display Solutions Europe has reported that its second Display Trends Forum was a success, providing more than 120 customers, partners speakers and staff with the opportunity to network, learn and discuss the future of the industry.

The event was held in Sorrento, Italy, October 18 to 20, 2011 and acted as a platform for workshops, meetings and discussions.

Bernd Eberhardt, managing director at NEC Display Solutions Europe, delivered the keynote speech and was joined by representatives from market data research companies and speakers from customer installations.

A digital signage workshop included discussions around the latest standards within the retail signage and digital-out-of-home (DOOH) sectors. NEC predicts significant growth in these sectors as companies start to see the benefits of using the technology to create competitive advantage and build brand loyalty.

In the Reference Performance on Stage workshop, NEC delivered an introduction to the Reference concept and its ‘Tradition of Performance’, showcasing the latest high-luminance projectors and professional Public Displays for large venue presentations. Alongside this were customer testimonials and market data.

The third workshop focused on the topic of the Future Office, with presentations and discussions on the changes occurring in modern office environments and the role that emerging technologies play in this transformation.

Stefanie Corinth, vice president of marketing and business development at NEC Display Solutions Europe, said: “We have created a platform that brilliantly combines the transfer of knowledge, practical expertise and fantastic opportunities for networking. We are delighted by its success and we are well on our way to making the forum a highly anticipated annual event.”
