Emquatrier and Emporium, collectively called The District EM, are twin luxury malls in Bangkok, Thailand and they have chosen Harman solutions to provide audio at the premises. The solution was provided by Harman’s distributor for Thailand, Mahajak, and integrator PM Centre.

The audio system features 58 JBL Control 25AV loudspeakers, 20 Control 29AV loudspeakers, six JBL AWC129 loudspeakers, four JBL AW526 loudspeakers and six ASB7118WRX subwoofers. It is all powered with three Crown DCi 2|600N amplifiers, five DCi 2|1250N amplifiers and three Crown I-Tech 9000HD amplifiers.

Two BSS BLU-806, one BSS BLU-326 signal processors with two BLU-BOB2 output expanders were also added for additional network bandwidth.

The two malls are separate complexes but are architecturally linked with walkways and the Sky Train. This meant that remote management was requested as a key feature. Using fibre networks and setting up a control rooms means that the audio system at either mall can be controlled from a single location.

Alan Archer, project manager at Mahajak, said regarding the choice of solution: “A very flexible system was needed to cater to a wide range of outdoor activities in multiple locations, so we used these products to enable delivery of high-quality sound to many locations at the same time.”
