InfoComm executive dies in tragic accident

Michael Vergauwen, a member of InfoComm’s Board of Directors has died in a tragic drowning accident. The 52-year-old executive vice president and COO of AVI Systems was trying to save a friend when he met with difficulties himself.

InfoComm International expressed its sadness at the news and described Vergauwen as a “tireless advocate for the audiovisual industry”.

In an official statement, Jay Rogina, President of InfoComm International said: “[Michael] offered wise counsel and was a good friend to so many of us in the InfoComm family. He will be missed greatly, and we offer our sincere condolences to Michael’s family and friends.”

In the coming weeks, InfoComm will be announcing its plans to recognise his accomplishments and contributions over the years.
