Christie boss applauded for contribution to cinema

Jack Kline, chairman, president and CEO of Christie's operating companies will be recognised for his contribution to motion picture experiences when he receives the 2014 Ken Mason Inter-Society Award.

The award will be presented by Susie Beiersdorf, the Inter-Society’s president and vice president of sales at Sony Electronics, on March 25 during CinemaCon 2014 in Las Vegas.

The Inter-Society, was founded by Kodak’s Ken Mason to promote dialogue between companies working within the cinema industry in an effort to improve overall cinema presentation.

Beiersdorf said: “Under Jack’s leadership, Christie has become a major innovator in the entertainment industry including the first commercial deployment of digital cinema.”

Dan Huerta, vice president of Sight & Sound, AMC Theatres, added: “Jack has helped grow Christie into one of the most recognised technology and service companies in the cinema and digital signage industries. His strategic vision and commitment to succeed have benefitted many, including cinema operators and moviegoers.”

Ioan Allen, SVP of Dolby Laboratories, added his voice to those congratulating Kline describing him as “a gentleman of the industry”.
