Qatar University turned to Techno Q for a solution to ensure maximum occupancy of a dedicated workshop room, while allowing space for breakout sessions. The space was about 30 years’ old and they wanted a new room, new furniture and new technology.
"It took us four months to complete," says Abdulla Alansari, executive director of Techno Q. "We had to remove everything and start again. New power, LAN, sound and video cables; a completely new infrastructure.
"We installed six tables in three v-shapes all focusing on a main videowall," explains Alansari. "In the middle area we have movable tables so they can configure them for different sessions. We had to ensure that everyone in the room could see the main display clearly without obstacles or problems.
"The main screen had to be as big as possible but the room has a very awkward ceiling made up of v-shapes at different heights. So we had to find a place to put this main screen and raise it a little so everyone could see comfortably."
