Four years ago Silhouette, a Linz headquartered and internationally renowned manufacturer of frames for eyewear, had a problem with a projector and touch panel. It contacted local integrator Xmedia, which successfully solved the problem, and a relationship was born.
Over the years Xmedia integrated various AV systems for the family owned manufacturer and this year Silhouette requested a Polycom video conferencing system. As the two companies discussed the plans the project evolved into a full conference centre for Silhouette and two meeting rooms for nearby adidas offices. The sports brand licenses Silhouette designs and has premises within Silhouette’s Linz site.
Harald Steindl, general manager of Austrian distributor Mocom played a big part in designing the system that was presented to Silhouette. He says that the strong relationship between Xmedia and the frame manufacturer was instrumental in the project win.
"Silhouette is a family owned company and values strong relationships. It had worked with Xmedia successfully for the last four years, liked how the integrator operated and had built up a lot of trust," he explains.
