Genelec reveals eco feature ahead of energy directive deadline

Genelec has developed an autostart feature for its 4000 Series of monitors to meet criteria for The Energy Related Products (ERP) Directive that comes into force on January 6, 2013.
The new feature means Genelec can reach the requirement that states standby power consumption for any product is under 0.5W.
“The responsibility for compliance with this directive rests with product manufacturers,” says Lars-OlofJanflod, marketing and PR director at Genelec.
“We’ve decided to embrace the new regulation and take it as an opportunity to further advance the technical capabilities of our monitors.”
