JoeCo ships Dante enabled BlackBox recorder

07 July 2012

JoeCo, manufacturer of BlackBox recorder products, is shipping 64-channel Dante recorder, the BBR64-DANTE that was previewed at Prolight + Sound 2012.

The company joined forces with Audinate, creators of the Dante media networking solution, to create the product.

It occupies 1U of rack space, has tack count of 64 and connects to any Dante-enabled network device from a range of console and converter manufacturers.

In addition to recording 64 channels at standard sample rates, it can also record 8 channels of analogue alongside 56 channels of Dante. Higher sample rate recording (88.2kHz and 96kHz) is also possible at a reduced track count.

Audio is recorded in Broadcast WAV format to an external USB2 (FAT32 formatted) drive and can be imported into Mac- or PC-based Digital Audio Workstations for re-purposing. The BBR64-DANTE offers safety features, such as "Safe ‘n’ Sound Record Recovery", and provides high-resolution metering and headphone monitoring of individual/pairs of channels via internal PFL bus.
