CAVE VR tool dissected

A cave automatic environment, known as a CAVE, is an immersive virtual reality environment. Anna Mitchell explores what goes into this high end AV solution with visualisation specialist mechdyne.

CAVEs are used to visualise data or designs. The name references Plato’s Republic where a philosopher contemplates perception, reality and illusion in the allegory of the Cave.
