Gefen and Marshall combine tech for live video solution

Gefen has joined forces with Marshall Electronics to target entertainment, hospitality and retail sectors with a solution that provides live video footage on HDTV displays.

Marshall Electronics’ HD Encoder/Decoder (VS-102-HDMI) accepts video from non HDCP-encrypted HDMI sources, including satellite set-top boxes and high-definition cameras. This can be used in a Gefen Digital Signage Creator project to feed live video in the HDMI format to HDTV displays.

The Digital Signage Creator works with Windows-based systems and provides control over digital signage content creation when connected to a LAN.

Perry Goldstein, manager of sales and marketing for Marshall Electronics, said the companies combined resources provided a cost-effective solution for streaming live video in a digital signage system.
