AVnu alliance grows, holds plugfest

The AVnu Alliance, which promotes the adoption of the IEEE 802.1 AVB standards, has announced the addition of four new promoter members.

Analog Devices, Barco, Pelagicore and Shure have all signed up as promoter members. The signing up of Barco is particularly significant is it represents the first major display manufacturer to join the group.
Jan Willem Brands, Barco CTO said: “Open networked solutions are the way forward in the A/V industry. Barco is at the forefront of the convergence process of audio visual and IT technologies and is therefore thrilled to join the alliance.”
The AVnu Alliance also recently held its first member plugfest. The event was the first step in the alliance’s efforts to ensure interoperability among AVB-enabled networked products.
