Developed to fulfil a need for a compact, industrial-strength DVDCD, HHB has announced its new UDP-89. It features an HDMI video output, for the best possible picture quality, and balanced surround sound outputs to get the most from SACD and DVD-Audio format disks.

Housed in a 1u chassis, the UDP-89 plays CDs, Video-CD, SACD, DVD-Video and DVD-Audio disks, and features a built-in pre-amp with volume control for direct connection to active 5.1 loudspeakers. IT also provides Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, mpeg audio decoding, professional quality cueing, A-B repeat function and RS-232 and parallel control interfaces.

Added to the initial launch spec, the production model also includes OEclean screen, a feature which removes brand logos from the video display.
